3-months tomorrow!!!!!
Hiya!
Well as you can see Dad did more of a face-mask thing than breakfast..:))) ha ha ha ....!!!
Visited the clinic today for the second 6-in-1 jab and the 1st of the Rotavirus drops....ouch and yucky!!!
Have been pretty quiet and sleepy all afternoon....and building up to some nigglyness for the next 3 days - maybe, maybe not. I hear cries........ok so that was an hour and 7 minutes ago - it's now 17h59 !!! Feed time and a lot of crying proooooobably brought on by the Rotavirus drops - was told to expect some cramping....and yip it happened in stereo!!!!!
But all that aside tomorrow is 3 months and hopefully (fingers crossed) that's the end of the "difficult" stage and it'll just get better from here....us all sleeping longer being the most important one. We have been taking strain these last 2 weeks or so.....erratic wakings in the night - so I never know when - but in the day like clockwork it's been every 2 hours - you can set your watch to them! I'm just exhausted. Brad is wrapping up his end of year for builders holiday so is taking strain on that front, so at night when he comes home it's hard for us both to string more than 5 words together. And people have babies to keep an already rocky marriage together????? We've had some bad days, but if we can get through that, we can get through anything....now that's my positive spin for today ;)
Right must be off now to get the washing off the line, toss the nappies in the bin and toss a quick salad - thank goodness it's summer so supper's quick and veeeeery simple - and hope I don't get these last 2 mixed up....ha ha ha....salad in the bin and nappies on the plates ;) and then a quick run under the shower....OK here goes.....1st a look in at the babies as I hear crying again... :(

news from Mommy
Hiya all!
Well the great news is that the jaundice episode is nothing to be worried about! It's something to do with the baby's anti-bodies killing off the free radicals that they're exposed to on a daily basis, and this causes the jaundice. A load of bollocks according to the nurse that came to weigh them in the beginning, which is a great relief.
It would have been something to worry about if they were bottlefed babies who suddenly developed it - which could then show liver issues etc etc. So NO more heel-pricks, and the yellowing should disappear on it's own accord. Hip hip hooray! Although I must add they loved the "naked in Tahiti" suntanning on the bed ;)))))
The girls have started smiling (no not the 'wind' smile) for real....and even their little eyes light up and shine with love and affection - or that's what I like to think! They also pull their shoulders up when they smile....so it's all really cute! And the goo-ing and gurgling is something that just melts me at the knee-caps.
I'll do my best to catch it on a video, but up to now have just got the smiling and gurgling. Will upload in the next day or two when I've remembered how - or might have to enlist the help of my geek husband...haa haa haaaa! Also to catch them doing it at the same time...!!!!

being a geek new dad
So last night the girls slept for 6 hrs - and boy did i have a good sleep :) Only problem is that 2 hrs after that feed they woke up and so did dad and he could not go back to sleep because he had just a great sleep. Whilst downstairs i booted up my trusty mac and had a realization that it would be great for my girls to get an email address, but not just any old email address a google one like mom and dad that they could use forever, it will not matter where they live or work they will always have a central email address. Now if i waited till they needed an email address then they might end up with jess9hemphill or whatever but not the intuitive one thats after their own name! So i settled for jessica.mikayla.hemphill and sarah.grace.hemphill and they now have email addresses! Now you might think this is odd and geekish and why should they not choose an alias one like "sarahpookie" - well of course they can! but they will always have the serious one and can always forward or do whatever they want with the emails and i promise you they will be clever enough to sort out what and how they want it!
The importance of a properly named email is not to be underestimated. Your email address is not your online identity and nobody can steal it! it is your online PO BOX address that people can send you mail that you want and dont want, without it many will find it difficult to communicate with you!
Of course what about when the get married? well i think i will just forget about that thought for at least the next 25 years! now where is that double bore shotgun licence application :)

My right hand
Dear all!
Jessica weighed in at 4kg's on the dot today and Sarah weighed in at 3.92kg's, and Cred said they are doing really well! Yaaaaaaaaay! Brad will add to the stats on the top right ;)
Sindiswa (who goes by the name of Viv) our nanny started last Tuesday and is great with the girls. When they are both screaming for food (and this generally happens at the same time as the set each other off), Viv holds one whilst I feed the other...and it's a system that works, because they don't get to a state of hyperventilation, and neither do I !
Viv starts at 8am and leaves at 3.30pm. I usually then take them for a walk and start the bath proceedings by 4.30pm so the girls are all in bed by 5.30pm. I'm sure I'll get faster, but for now it takes about 30-minutes each...as time is spent pacifying the waiting/finished one. I've started reading Peter Pan to them...OK trying to...as the crying whilst they settle down interrupts a bit, then it's lights out by 6pm.
At the mo they feed every 2 hours in the day, and are then doing 4-hourly and sometimes 3-hourly feeds at night, which is great. However sometimes it always isn't so easy to get them back to sleep after a feed, and I can stand there for up to an hour whilst they niggle and whimper.
Brad complains about how tired he is, and surprised I ask why, as he mostly sleeps through all the feeds...but then he tells me after I've passed out comatose after a feed, he's the one standing at the baskets trying to get them to sleep ;)))))....aaah the bliss of ignorance?
